Marble is a metamorphic stone, composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite.  Geologists use the term "marble" to refer to metamorphic limestone; however, stonemasons use the term more broadly to also encompass non-metamorphic limestone.  This material is found in Australia and all around the world in varying colours and vein patterns.
