Australian Bluestone
Reintroduce the smouldering appeal of a by-gone era with Australian Bluestone surfaces, features & accessories.
Australian Bluestone (basalt) is sourced from a slowly cooled volcanic flow that runs from inland Mt Rouse at Penshurst to the sea at Port Fairy in South East Victoria.
Historically this material was used for fieldstone walls and cottages in the early days of Victorian settlement. Today it is used extensively in the cityscapes of Melbourne & Sydney. When leathered the surface of this material resembles the texture of an orange skin.
